Back-Off Brake Module

Postby goodoni » Sat Mar 05, 2016 8:30 am

Hello to all,

1984 GL1200 Interstate
We were getting better weather up here in Michigan, should be riding in a couple weeks.
I would like to install a “Back-Off” module for my brake lights. The Module has a red wire in and a red/white wire out. The directions say to splice into the brake wire, trouble is which wire. I have the wiring diagram, but I’m a Mechanical guy not an Electrical guy.

Any help is appreciated!

Ride Safe,
Goodoni

I would use a test light ( a dollar 2 ninety-eight) from Napa. Test on your battery to make sure the bulb is working. Clip the clamp end to a good ground. The probe end with lite put on a wire on switch or rear light wire. Step on the brake pedal if light lights thats the wire, if it doesn't go to the next wire. Battery Neg.- is always a good ground point.

twocams,

Thanks for the reply, I'm just doing the top trunk, It's the Green/Yellow wire.
Easier than i thought.

Thanks again, Ride Safe
