Personally, I would get the Honda manual--61ML950AH.
you can find it at: http://www.helminc.com/helm/Result.asp? ... d%5Fmedia=

First off, how much do you know in general about charging systems? If you're troubleshooting, forums like this are better than any manual. I spent a few winters ago just studying electrical systems and how they work. How to use multi-meters. what schematics actually show and how to apply them to real world application. Books are just a reference when it comes to wiring. I'd start with asking here, what your problem is and see if other can help.

crimsonwing, Yes there is a reason. I have owned a number of motorcycles and cars over the years and have consistently found the service manuals from the manufacturers to be the best and to provide the best info. Sometimes you do get a different approach or twist from the Clymer or Haynes but if I could only afford one--I would go with the manufacturers manual.

I also figure it that the manufacturer provides this manual to the dealer techs to actually do the work. So why not use the same manual if it is available? I have found that the Honda manuals are usually a little more expensive than the Clymer or Haynes but I have always felt I got what I wanted and paid for.
