Recently took apart the carbs on my 86 Aspencade and cleaned everything, including taking apart and reassembling the reed valves. Then read in Clymer manual that this is a no-no. Now the bike misses noticeably but seems to smooth out at higher rpms. Could this be part of the problem? Reed valves seem to be too simple to mess up.

I dont know I just took all that stuff off and plugged the holes. So if you need them mine have 30,000 miles on them. You pay shipping if you need some.
