Extra little plastic washers, oops

Postby MechDad » Sun Apr 17, 2016 5:44 am

Hey Everyone,
I am doing significant maintenance to my new-to-me 85 Aspencade. I am finally in the process of putting it all back together, and I found a couple of extra plastic washers that I don't remember taking off.
I have had the forks apart, the radiator off, rebuilt all three calipers, and have the carbs out (but not apart yet), and the fuel pump off. I also have all the associated body work removed. Could someone help me identify where these go?
I appreciate all the awesome information and experience here, thanks in advance!

One place washers like these can be found on the 1500, is the choke rod connectors on the carbs.
I'm not sure about the 1200.

There are 2 plastic washers, one metal washer and a really tiny cotter pin. one plastic washer goes on the rod first, then the rod pushes through the hole, then a plastic washer, then a metal washer then the cotter pin.

I looked thru 30+ pics of my build and didnt see any. Carbs as said before. Put them in a ziplock bag. You will find a use for them later. of course I have a try of leftover parts that I find kicking around the shop floor. Sometimes I find their home and sometimes I dont.

Thanks guys!
I found the choke connectors on my carbs, and those are all still in place. I did have the thought that they were in the fueling linkage somewhere.
I'll keep them, and hope that I don't find out the hard way where they go,
Thanks again,
Steve
