SEi air ride ?

Postby Rusty Bike » Mon Apr 18, 2016 3:59 pm

Hi all, The compressor is running, the display looks fine but the display shows no change in suspension pressure. IOW, pump runs but no change in shocks, front or rear. I do have a slight fluid leak in the front right fork but I doubt that is the problem. Any sugestions? Thanks Rusty...

That's kinda like the lights on but nobody's home. i would take an air line off close to the pump and make sure there is air coming out. Just cause the pump is making noise dont mean its pumping anything. If it is making air I would check for a cracked hose or a leak at one of the joints. And there ya go....sir. And if that dont work come back and see us.

Spraying soapy water from a spray bottle around the various fittings will show if air is leaking out somewhere - look for bubbles.

OK, finally got back to this. I got the control switches freed up with some Deoxit. I pulled the front and rear air lines off of the bottom of the distributor. No Air when pump runs. All of the solenoids are working on the distributor. That air drier may be plugged up, or the pump is not pumping, it is running, or the intake is plugged. How do you get access to the pump. I can't even see it! Wires everywhere! "Step By Step...Inch By Inch" Thanks

Rusty, after taking half the dash and other stuff apart. Which didn't do much. Take out the right speaker/right pocket. You can see just about everything from there. And even get it out thru the fairing pocket. One of the rubber "nipples" goes thru the fairing/ well both. But the top one can be seen and put back in from there. Good luck :)

Well, I got the SOB outa there. Just take everything apart. Found the problem. There are two check valves in the top of the air dryer housing. These were stuck. Pulled the lid off the descant can. Used Blaster and worked the piston back n forth till it came apart. I would push the piston in then then bang lid on wood block till piston came out some. Worked it back and forth till it popped out. Cleaned it all up with some Scotch Bright, solvent, then soapy water and air. No oily stuff left in there now. Baked the desiccant now must reassemble. The pump works great on the bench. Time for dinner.....

Did taking the right speaker out/fairing pocket help any? Just didnt know if all the Wings were built the same way, in that area. I hate to tell people how I did something.....and the SEi is totally different.
