I'm pretty sure the wiring diagrams are in the service manual for the 1200...anyone?

Re: Wiring Harness
Yeah I have the wiring diagrams now thank you, the only problem is that it doesnt give you a length or a gauge of wire, my dad is going to send me his old harness so I can just build the new one. Thank you very much though. I dont do a lot of vehicle wiring but at my job I do wiring for helicopters. His stator melted the connector and the harness so im going to up the gauge of wiring going to it. He doesnt want to swith to an altenator either. Anyways thanks again guys.

Re: Wiring Harness
Most of the wires in the harness are probably adequate. Its the connectors that seem to be the problem. They just won't handle the amperage flow because of low contact area.

Re: Wiring Harness
The contact area in most of the connectors is sufficient, until they get dirty. It's the resistance that develops in the high-current connectors like the stator connector due to dirt that causes the heat that eventually destroys the connector.
That said, Honda really did go with the minimum gauge wire throughout the entire bike that they could get away with. The wires running to the stator get positively hot. I would love to rewire the bike with a larger gauge wire. I'm sure most of the ground loops, intercom noise, charging problems, etc. would vanish.
