Missing fairing piece GL1200

Post by Sshough01 » Fri Jun 03, 2016 9:31 pm

I'm really curious why the lower piece that connects the lower left and right fairing is so difficult to find. eBay has probably 50 lower left and right but none of the cross pieces that connect the two. This is the piece at the bottom of the radiator. There are numbers of every other piece but usually none of those. Was this a common piece to come off?

Mine is missing. I have the poor boy conversion and owner before me must have tossed it. I dont think they will fit with the poor boy? So some are just getting tossed. On my 84 inter. I had with 50,000 miles was still there, back in 1997.

Mine is still there have had it off a few times ,, but that said it is a very poor design if the right and left lower fairings are not pushed together as far a possible I can see the little bugger falling out never to be seen again . I put a little silicone on mine each time , it holds it in place and is easy to peel off when removing the part .

Good idea Geraldm, mines slightly loose, haven't lost in 60k miles. If you are looking for a replacement part try Straightwings
