Use the cruise controll from Jc Whitney. It is a single unit that mounts between the controll switches and the throttle tube. I have put them on all my bikes and they work fine. They are easy to install and adjust.
How many times do I have to tell ya,,, The right tool for the right job!

The type that fits between the throttle tube and the switches is a throttle lock. If you want an electronic cruise as found on the family sedan, yes it has been done on some bikes. The big challenge here is finding one. Most cars in the last 30 yrs, come with cruise from the factory. The companies that made all those aftermarket cruise units are I think gone. But if you by chance find one, go for it.

Yes, I put an electronic cruise control on my bike, it worked reasonably well. I did remove it after a while, I don't travel on roads that require cruise control enough.
I used a Rostra.
PM me your email address and I will send you a pdf someone wrote up on the install on an 1100 , it is pretty well the same as I had except for the location of the unit.

If you like to tinker it's not hard but dont expect a plug and play system.

I'd like to see the 1100 install PDF, if you want to send it up - I could post it for all to see.
