Any time I hear of overcharging,I suggest a teat procedure.
With your DVM in hand...
Start the bike and have access to the regulator module wiring and battery.
Measure for volts between these points when the voltage is too high.
Battery negative post and both the green wires on the regulator.Expect less than 0.2 volts DC.
Battery positive post and the regulator black wire. Expect less than 0.5 volts DC.
Battery positive post and the 2 regulator red wired.Expect less that 0.5 volts.
Directly across the battery posts.Expect less than 14.4 volts.
Let us know what the readings are.
Were measuring for voltage loss which will affect the regulator.

Virgil hi.
asked the workshop to preform the checks as i could not be present when they checked the charging!!
these were the results!
GREEN LESS THAN 0. 2
BLACK LESS THAN 0.5
DIRECT BATTERY LESS THAN 14.4

NOW!!! THIS IS WHAT THEY FOUND ON THE RED WIRES!!
14.2 VOLTS (IS THIS POSSIBLE?????????) :?:

I WILL BE IN THE WORKSHOP TO-MORROW AND CHECK IT MY SELF!!

14.4 DOES NOT MAKE SENSE

They say less than 14.4 volts directly across the battery terminals? I thought you had over 16volts?

OK.So they didn't measure as I suggested?
If one wants to isolate a problem, one must test when it has the problem.
"measure when the volts are too high"
All voltage measurements are useless if not taken when it is doing a bad thing.

Please be anal about each test point and when its taken.
Only then can it be determined what to work on.
Remember were talking about just volt and a half overall increase. This increase can be a result of an accumulation of small increases in voltage loss of multiple wires.

here are the results as you requested;

is this is relevant.??
before starting
battery voltage
12.70v
after starting and at idle speed
battery voltage
14.23
negitive to green on idle
0.12 volts
positive to black on idle
0.02volts
positive to red wire on idle
0.35 0.38 volts
battrey on idle 14.3 volts
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ 2nd test
tests carried out @3000 rpm(overcharging )
battery posts 17volts
volt meter on dash flashing1

neg to green@3000rpm
0.29v//////0.26v

pos to black 0.16 v at 3000rpm

pos to red@3000rpm 0.78v\\\\0.83v

r\r and r\r wires very hot!!!!

hope this is clearer now and the English is understandable?

The voltage drop does not account for the 17 volts at the battery.
Even adding them all up the r/r module should be much closer to the 14.5 volt max.
The r/r module can get very hot...as in greater than 165° within just minutes. The wires can get warm also..they do have a bunch of power flowing through them.Unfortunately they were just a bit undersized in my opinion.
It appears that the r/r module is not regulating properly.
Can you sub it with another?

Also keep in mind that the ltd uses a higher output stator 490 watt compared to the standard model of 360 watt.
It makes sense that it would require a different regulator module.
Should you have a generic gl1200 replacement regulator , it may not have enough stuff to handle the higher capability of the stator.

Before you order another I'll look at the schematics and specs.
Do you have other regulator modules on hand?

Will it hold 100kph steady?
If it does, look for a fuel delivery problem.
Poor pump fuel delivery, restricted lines, plugged fuel filter, restricted air cleaner.
Maybe a slipping grip on the throttle..where the grip holds on the plastic, not the fingers :)
