capacitor check

Postby Vern Groves » Wed Aug 18, 2010 4:24 pm

ON my '86 Gold Wing - Interstate 1200 I"d like to know the physical location of the capacitor that exists between the Regulator/Rectifier and the Main fuse (30 amp). Do these ever go bad? Where is it physically located.

I would think it should be in the same place as my 84 1200 which is on the left side, upper frame, under the false gas tank. Mine is taped right to the frame.
How many times do I have to tell ya,,, The right tool for the right job!

Not certain about this but I did find something in the left side rubber cover where the connectors are for the rear lighting.

Not sure what year it was but it was after 85 and I only had a quick glance so I could be wrong.
