GL1500 ignition coils....used

Postby twocams » Fri Jun 24, 2016 7:34 pm

I bought some new ignition coils, wires and caps for my GL1200. But haven't liked the way the coils are firing.
So went on flea bay and bought used GL1500 coils (3) for $22 & free shipping. The bike dont start any easier but didnt start hard to begin with. I do notice a difference in pick up. Fourth gear has better pickup. Maybe cause all 4 cylinders are firing now. Seems to hold speeds better going up hill on the Interstate. Getting 38 mpg with old coils, maybe better with the 1500s. As long as it dont drop I can live with it. I used my new coil wires/caps from the 1200 coils.
