Rear brake pad replacement

Postby Ghostriderou812 » Sat Jul 02, 2016 11:22 pm

Hi guys
I recently replaced the rear pads on my 84 goldwing interstate and noticed that the new ones didn't have the cork and metal backing plate on them like the old ones? Is that normal for the new pads? Will it be an issue?

I've only had it a year so haven't done it until now. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks Ghostrider

The Honda pads have it last time I bought a set ..... but aftermarket pads like EBC don't have the added layers. Either will work, but aftermarket / thinner pads let the pistons extend further out in use.

Depends on brand pads you bought.
