Low beam out

Post by Alemayehu » Tue Jul 05, 2016 7:00 am

I am getting a problem with my 1987 GL1200 recently low beam is not working.I thought that it may be the bulb filament some thing happened and I changed with LED bulb. What happened was the high beam blue light is on and the switch does't function for the low / high beam but instead high is on all the time. Now I am planning to get replacement H4 bulb and see what will happen but in the mean time any help/suggestion regarding such is much appreciated.
God bless!

With your headlight plugged in and the key on..Measure from the battery ground post to the green wire on the headlight. Its ground. There should be no volts there. The other two wires should switch when the hi/lo switch is operated. If volts on the green wire, locate the bad ground or augment it with a new ground wire.
