GL1200 Front shocks Re and RE ....

Postby SilverDave » Thu Jul 07, 2016 9:14 pm

I thought I saw, once , somewhere, a list of the steps and torque orders for replacing the ( rebuilt ) front shocks on an Aspencade ? .. ?

( perhaps I just wished that I had seen such a list ?? )

The key part is that the 6 upper shock clamps , the fork brace and the fender are not supposed to be torqued right down , until the wheel is (Temporarily ) installed ....In order that the shocks are properly aligned .

I think ...

Has anyone EVER seen such a list ??

It will probably end with :
.....
18) Replace false tank.
19 ) Replace seat ..

LOL

I have only the Clymer book for the GL-1200 (I thought I had Haynes' as well ..... but it's the GL-1500 that I have Haynes, Clymer, & Honda manuals for) so every time I've done a 1200 front fork R&R (several counting buddies bikes) it was by that book ..... just go step by step.

Not recalling seeing it step by step on the net?
