84 GL1200A Stator

Postby wingnut74 » Fri Jul 08, 2016 9:52 am

Hi, I am new to this site and looking for a little insight on an issue I have encountered with a Randakks stator I purchased for my 84 Aspencade. The clip for the new stator wiring harness (attached to the stator itself) hits the casing not leaving the stator flush on the one side. It is a phillips screw, where as the others stators I have replaced for friends on their bikes has just been a flat metal plate. Has anyone had this issue? It would not take much to modify the casing a bit and was going to head in that direction. Thanks!

It's been like 18 years since I was in my '85's stator housing so .... I forgot some details ....

.... but Randakk is pretty active on the Gold Wing related sites .... did you address it with him?
