I decited to take out the carbs after alot of reading on here. I did find the carbs are dirty and have surface rust in the bowls. I shined a light through the floats and see no signs of fuel in them. I can tell they are miss adjusted just by looking at them. I read the book and it says the flaots are to be set at 0.30 in. I don't have a float gage, so what would be the beast way to set them? In the book, it shows to measure between the outter edge of the float and the carb body by the float. I am buying new carb kits since I can see these need them. Also is there any way to test the floats like in the older cars. I 30+ years in the automotive indst. And I would like to hope I can transfer some of what I know to a bike.
How many times do I have to tell ya,,, The right tool for the right job!
