Broken Bolt

Postby starfleetengineer » Sat Sep 11, 2010 2:45 pm

Ok guys here's a new one. I just finished up with my carbs and noticed a broken bolt. It is on the lt. side frt. of the engine, just behind the frt. cover even with the frame. I tried to pull it out but it hits the frame. I have a little oil seepage, but I'm more worried on what it held on the inside. I tried to find it in the manual but there is no exploded views that show it.

Any ideas on what this holds?

Do you have a picture of the problem area?

I finaly found what the bolt is for. It is a case bolt that holds the two halfs of the block together. I found a better exploded view.

Thanks for the help!
