New Member GL1200 Interstate to Aspencade

Hello,
New member here with a question. I've got a 1984 GL1200A with a rotten frame. It won't sit on the center stand without the rear wheel touching the ground. I'm a man of many projects. So I just picked up a 1985 GL1200I with the hopes of transferring all the equipment & options from my Aspencade to my Interstate. Has anyone done this before? I have been using the search box, but haven't had much luck. Im sure I will have to swap the wire harness and a bunch of other stuff. Are there any huge obstacles I should be aware of? Currently both bikes are project bikes. I plan on making one good bike out of the two.
As far as my abilities go, I'm well rounded. I'm not afraid to dig into things & I have a pretty decent garage setup. I've got a couple other motorcycles also.
Some people say I have a problem..

Thank you all for your input,
Casey

Would you go that route because there are less parts to go wrong? Such as the digital dash and sensors. I'm not opposed to going that way. I'd still like to transfer the air compressor over though.
