Went from a weak spark to no spark.

Post by Kt2448 » Tue Mar 27, 2018 8:34 am

Hi all. I'm getting real sick of this goldwing. I've been having problem after problem and I'm about to give up and junk it. It's a 1984 1200 aspencade that will not start. I've tested and replaced the pulse generator, coils, plugs and wires. It used to have a very weak spark, but since I've replaced the coils, I don't have a spark at all. Everything is connected correctly. Someone please help, I'm at wits end with this bike. I have a lot into it, with lots of new parts, but it will end up in a junk yard soon of I can't get it running again.

What about the spark plugs are they new?

If you aren't having fun doing it, find something else to do.

Pretty likely you are not getting enough power to the coils. Simply wiring in a relay to get direct battery power to the coils may solve your problem. You can try jumping the black/white wire directly to the battery to prove this.

You didn't say.....have you cleaned or checked for voltage through the ignition switch and/or the "kill" switch?
