vacuum line hookup

Post by rinkeswa » Thu Apr 05, 2018 11:41 am

Just as I was finishing up getting my bone stock 49 state gl1200 dressed back up after a timing belt and carb rebuild, I noticed a small black rubber hose hanging - the 1984 service manual calls it part of the ignition control vacuum tube system (chapter 4, page 4-5). It originates on the left carb side and the manual (4-23) calls it "Pc Port vacuum tube" and it terminates into a Y fitting at the ignition control module - so far so good. My problem is that there is a second tube attached to the Y fitting that seems to run down to the right side carbs and it is the one hanging loose - I cannot find the termination point for this right side vacuum line in either diagrams or pictures in the manual. Any ideas?

There is supposed to be a short piece of hose at that T with a plug in it. Someone has added something with that long hose to the right.

Thank you ever so - I looked at those carbs with mirrors and magnifying glasses trying to figure out what that hose could attach to LOL. Now I can reassemble with a clear goal. Thanks again!
