cruse element for 1200 LTD

Postby fastf » Thu Nov 04, 2010 4:18 pm

Can anyone tell me where I can get a cruse control filter element for a 85 LTD cruse control? These things are hard to come by since
our bike manufacture does't make them any more. What I cannot understand Honda built tons of these bikes 1000,1100 and 1200 cc but since there are thousands still on the road and will out last any Harley why oh why aren't anyone making more parts for them. These are very good machines and deserve parts for them.

There is a seller on eBay at WhiteysClassic Wings. Also known as "whitey123" as a seller user name. He ain't cheap but I know he has thouroughly tested all his parts and they work. He always has a good supply of LTD parts.

I have been on Ebay and I have seen his site. But it just makes me sick Honda made these bikes and don't want to carry parts for them after they get a certain age and there isn't to many people that have new parts for these bikes.

I fashioned one for each of my LTD using the foam air filter from a briggs stratton lawn mower.

I fashioned one from a small engine filter too. I was able to find one that had the cellular structure similar to the original, and even the charcoal gray color. I think I found it at O'Reillys Auto Parts store.
It cuts easy and clean with sharp sissors.
