final drive

Post by soumilinon » Thu May 17, 2018 12:28 am

I have a 1987 interstate, with a 1500 final drive(worn spline on wheel).I bought a good rear rim with tire, rotor, axle with spacers. What needs to be changed to get this rim on `87 (don`t know year of rim... 84-87),also don`t know year of 1500 rim and hub.Does drive shaft need to be changed along with brake caliper and bracket and hub?The differential is fine ,just wheel spline is worn on 1500 rim,but would rather have proper rim on the bike.

Pretty much covered here. 88-89 years were different from the later 1500 final drives. 1200 drive shaft is used.

I`ve ruled out 88&89.they have 6 pin flange as does the `87,but the 1500 wheel is a 5 pin,so must be`90 or later.
