Progressive 14.25" rear shocks

Postby hammondtx » Fri Dec 03, 2010 10:07 pm

I just installed Progressive 14.25 inch rear shocks with heavy duty springs on my 86 1200 Aspencade, they work great and do
not bottom out when riding 2up.
The only problem is when its on the center stand the rear tire still touches the ground.
If I put a board about a quarter inch thick under the stand the tire will be off the ground like normal.
Will this cause any problems with it staying on the rear stand?

Providing the bike is on level ground, I don't see a problem, if 1/4" takes the wheel off the ground there isn't enough upward pressure to push the bike of the stand.

Obviously the shocks are longer than OEM.

One solution would be to weld a 1/4" pad on the bottom of the stand legs.
