I doubt you're going to find a new one, but lots of bike breakers, and yes, eBay, will have replacements.

I've got a NOS headlight unit from a 1980 CBX. I would bet it is the same. Part # is 33120-431-671.

Shipping may be an issue though. Don't know what to ask for it. I paid $35.

GL1200 part # is 33120-MG9-671

The second string of digits in the part number (XXXXX-217-XXX) is the product code, also known as Parts Classification Number in hondaspeak. This is the number that indicates the product (motorcycle) where this particular part was first used.

In the case of MG9 - 1984 GL1200

In the case of the CBX number - 431 - 1978 GL1000 was where it was first used.

Does a GL1000 light fit in a GL1200?

My wife scored one for $15 + shipping on E-Bay(the whole assembly).Bless her tenacious shopping. It arrived perfect.I didn't even know she got it for me.I thought it was another purse.Surprise.I guess I'll keep her,but it's my turn then isn't it.

:) Good for you and her ;) I told ya EBay can come up with some good buys. You did better than me. I got mine for $20 + shipping and one side lens was cracked. Keep your eyes open and don't grab the first thing you see :!:

I didn't get the side markers with it,but mine were OK.I did get a rear trunk lens cheep tho.I guess E-Bay is OK if you look closely before you buy.I E-Bayed a vent grille.got it and it was the wrong side(tapered),fortunately the seller stepped up and made it right.I'll buy from him again.

Most will make it right if they send the wrong thing. I got a free 10x20 party tent because theypacked it up poorly and parts were destroyed during shipping. Spare parts are always a good thing...

I'm restoring a 84 gl1200 I bought for $750.PO dumped it in a ditch, broke a bunch of stuff. It ran poorly.I cleaned the carbs. The exhaust,at the header had holes I could stick my finger in.Repaired it.Started the bike and was amazed how quiet it ran...till I heard this annoying intermittent ticking noise. My mind screamed about hydraulic lifters..then I realized it was the pulsing of the fuel pump.Amazing how the mind can create horrible scenarios in an instant.

I also got two different deals on headlights from e-bay. Some sellers think they have solid gold parts, but, if you check enough you can get great deals. I saw a NOS 1200 headlight lens on there today for $35. That's high if you compare to others where you can get the whole assembly for $50..or less! But it is new,so someone who is restoring might want that one.
