spark plug wrench size

Postby SAILOR » Fri Jan 28, 2011 3:53 pm

Any one know what spark plug wrench size I should be useing to get out the plugs in my 84 goldwing gl1200? I've tried a 16 mm and 17 mm and those don't seem to fit.

If it's the same as a GL1100 (and I'm pretty sure it is), you need a deep-well 18mm socket.

If in doubt, just go and buy a new spark plug of the same type and then you can easily see what socket size you need!! You could buy a socket whilst you are at the shop, get a few more spare plugs and change them all..

If I could have seen the plug type I would have gone by that. Anyway the 18 mm did the trick.

The plug type is in the service manual. If you don't have one it's a great investment!! ;)
