Hi I'm very new at the internet and I'm a new and an old goldwing lover
I just got my bike And the man that I got it from said he put a stator on it but she won't charge the batt. I can ride around 125 miles and the batt. Will be almost dead but the motor still run fine :?
Thanks so much
Also looking for some ideals on where it take a weekend trip when I get her up and running good

I'd start by using a DVM on the battery.Check the static volts(12.2-12.8)bike off, start the bike,at a idle(12-12.5) 1500 rpm(12.5-13) 2500 rpm(13-13.8) and so-on.You get the idea.If the voltage does increase with rpm the charging circuit may be OK and the battery just bad.If the volts go down or at least don't go up to the 13-14 volt range the next step is to check the wiring at the stator plug. Its next to the battery, left side,3 yellow wires on a plug(bike off).Unplug it,use the DVM,each wire will show low ohms with each other, measure between each of them. There should be no short to ground. Also clean the ground lug at the frame and check or replace the dogbone fuse under the cap on the starter relay(right side of battery.
