I had to replace my rear drive on my 85 aspy this worked for me. If your rear drive is off take your rubber boot at the engine push your u-joint off your engine back towards your rear drive. It would help if some one couldhold the rear drive and slide it up while you hold the u-joint in place that way you can turn the u-joint around until splines line up. Then push the rear drive forward and get the splines lined up. Make sure to lube the splines good with molly grease. Its a lot of fun but once you get it back together should be good to go good luck Hal

I just always imagined the U-joint's rear yoke had droped and I wouldhave the drive shaft inserted in the rear gear carrier, use two hands with the carrier, insert the shaft into the tube, and aim low feeling for the entrance to that U-joint rear yoke's hole.

Often takes a minute or two.

If I am trying to put a new U-joint in after removing one, that's when I peel the boot back and place the U-joint on the end of the driveshaft and use the shaft as a holder with left hand and use right hand to guide Ujoint into place wiith the boot peeled back.
