I have a 85 Interstate that the tempature gauge doesn't work all the time. Any input as to where to start looking to correct this would appreciated. Thanks

If both temp and fuel are acting up it's the 7 volt regulator. If it's only one,it's the sending unit. The temp sending unit is dead center of the block, behind the radiator,on the right side of the coolant distribution block. It is a single conductor device. The 2 conductor unit is the fan switch.Pull the single conductor off, clean it and squeeze it tight, then push back on.Here's a pix.
