Check the ground: both the ground wire from the battery to the frame (especially where it connects to the frame - unbolt it, clean it, and reinstall), as well as the ground wires (green) coming from the regulator. If there is some resistance between the regulator ground wires and the actual ground, it will cause the regulator to output too high a voltage.

You can also test by (with the bike shut off) using an ohm meter to measure the resistance between the green ground wires at the regulator connector and the battery negative post. It should be very close to zero ohms. If it's higher, you need to trace down where the resistance is (usually an old or corroded connection).

i had already cleaned battery ground to motor and frame next was the two green ground wires just cant find where they ground at .
can you ground two green wires coming out regulator to battery ground to see if it will fix the charging

ok green wires i grounded to ground on the battery did not fix it charging over 16 so i cut the black wire that is the sensing wire hooked to the + side the of battery did not help over charging left it unhook still over charging
ok when i tested my stator from one yellow wire to other i got 80 volts ac is that way to high all tested 80
i think the after market regulator is no good
