1200 stereo

Sometimes my stereo works fine and other times it has no sound at all. Even when it won't make noise, the station indicator shows the station.

Try bumping the front of the radio with your hand. If this makes it work, then the problem is with the contacts at the back of the radio where it plugs in. I fixed mine by spraying contact cleaner on the two halves of the plug at the back of the radio. Stick your key in the keyhole by the clock and pull the radio out to get at the plug.

If it is the contacts, pull the radio and with a small screwdriver open up the contacts a little, over time they do tend to weaken with all the bouncing the radio gets.
