LED lights

Postby SAILOR » Wed Jun 15, 2011 2:41 pm

Has anyone gone through and replaced all there normal light bulbs with LED's on their older GL1200s to minimize power consumption? If so what kind of lights did you use? And where did you get them? Any issues with the flashers, or turn signals? My understanding is sometimes LEDs don't draw enough amps for turn signals to flash correctly. Was this an issue?

Finally what was the total amp savings in switching to LEDs.

Have a look at this post.

All told with changing all of my lights to LEDs I gained back around 3-4 amps or so (36-48 watts). Not a huge amount, but when you're looking to gain every watt you can, it helps.
