engine running uneven

Postby melpen » Sun Jul 03, 2011 11:00 pm

I have worked on this bike for some time to no avail. A 1987A, 115000 on the clock. I am at the end of my knowledge here. Have changed timing belts, checked compression, rebuilt carbs ,changed plugs checked spark, cleaned tank replaced fuel filter, checked fuel volume delivery. All seem to be good.
Engine still runs uneven worse around 2000 rpm revs good has plenty of power can hear an occasional backfire while cruising. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Mel

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Did you do a carb sync?
It is very important that the carbs be balanced.
