ground location

Postby ACEWINGER » Sun Jul 24, 2011 6:27 pm

I was wondering, according to some research, I have heard that a faulty gorund can cause the starter not to turn. I cleaned the battery ground connection and was wondering where is this "other ground" connection at on a 86 interstate?

Look at the battery ground and follow that cable to where it is bolted to the chassis. Where it is bolted could be loose.
It's not what you buy, it's what you build.

Not only could it be loose but it could be corroded. Take it off and clean both sides of the cable and the area where it contacts the frame and the back side of the bolt.
