Antenna Distributor

I have installed a second antenna on my '87A. If I disconnect the antenna distributor, can I just run my second (left) antenna directly to the CB, and use the original (right) one for the good time radio? Will it work that way? I would assume  , but need more educated help instead ;) . Also, does the factory antenna end up being directional in relationship to its mounting? I have never talked to anyone on this CB, although I have set the SWR. And speaking of SWR, does anyone have a set of adapters for sale or know where I could purchase them to alleviate the cobbled up mess that I used with my SWR meter?

Ride your GoldWing no faster than your angel can fly.

That's the way I have had mine since 85, I don't need to talk to someone 10 miles away, just a few bikes close by
