Sidecar fitting

Postby mervk » Tue Aug 16, 2011 1:36 am

Proud as punch. Just bought my first Goldwing, an 85 GLI 1200. Haven't received it yet, waiting on shipment from US to Australia. In the meantime, I'm collecting data. Due to short legs, bad hips and knees, I need to fit a sidecar, but have not been able to get any hints on recommended fitting points. Has anyone fitted one to an 85 1200 GLI? I would appreciate any comments on what components of the bike to attach the chair chassis to bike, and also any photos anyone may have or can take of the fittings used and position attached to the bike.

Pictures of my new pride and joy can be found at kroll.id.au

Thanks

Merv

Go to the United Side Car's web site, http://www.sidecar.com. Register, then locate a user called "Hack'n", (Lonnie Cook). He has mounted sidecars on many bikes and he always seems happy to share his knowledge. He probably has some pics of what you want.
