My '86 1200A Aspencade transmission sounds "whiny". I've heard that the '87 1200A Aspencade transmission is quieter. I know that the case is different in an '87 but what can I change or add to improve mine?

First thing I'd try is a different type of oil - perhaps synthetic, or a lighter weight.
