Hello y'all. I ride a Ducati Monster and an old KLR. I just bought an 85 Aspy as a minor project. It hasn't run in three years and I'm in the process of freshening it up. Carbs are out and I have two of them cleaned, will go after the other two tonight. It does have a stripped out spark plug on the number two cylinder. I was originally going to time cert it but was also considering just upping the plug size to a M14x1.25 instead of the M12x1.25. Has anyone attempted this or is it a bad idea? Also what is the control unit just in front of the airbox with the one vacuum line and wiring harness? Thanks for your help, I'm sure I will have plenty more questions.

There,s a post on this page regarding the stripped plug. It,s been a while since I changed plugs but I think the 12mm is a taper seal, And the 14mm uses a sealing washer. I think the box Your reffering to controls the engine funtions, Spark advance ect. I might be wrong any corrections from anyone else would enlighten both of Us.Take care and good luck with Your project.
