Gl1200 aspencade intercom woes

Postby riverratt1 » Mon Apr 13, 2009 9:49 pm

I just put the '84 goldwing on the road. Now I need to find out how to upgrade the intercom from the 5din plug to the new mini plug adapter. I don't have the old intercoms for the bike. Just the two plugs only.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

What is the mini plug you're talking about? I wonder...do you mean the small J&M connector on the helmet headset? I know my J&M helmet headset has this tiny connector, and they use this cord (included with the headset) to connect between the helmet and the 5-pin plug on the motorcycle.

What I need to do is adapt from the 5pin din plug to the new 1/8" plug similar to the I-pod and
aftermarket intercom adapters so I can input the radio and CB to my intercom system.

Ah, I see what you mean. There's an outfit here that sells a cable like that:

You plug one end into your MP3 player or whatever, and the other end goes into the component terminal in place of the cassette player. I don't know whether or not it would work plugging it directly into the intercom lead.
