Another mystery piece

Postby WingAdmin » Mon Mar 19, 2012 6:52 am

While doing final reassembly of my 1500 last night, I was installing the left upper inner cowl panel, and while doing so, this piece fell out. I can't identify it, or figure out where it belongs. Anyone care to take a guess?

That is surely one of the directional flaps that belongs to the vents on either side of your instrument cluster just below your front speakers. Have a look under the speaker in this picture:
Keep the rubber side down.

It was one of those vent vanes...I was thrown, because I wasn't missing any of those little things. But then I remembered that when I first got the bike, the left vent was missing a couple, and I replaced it as a result. This must have just fallen down inside, and fell out when I was putting things back together.

It's the thing-a-ma-bob connected in the what-cha-ma-call-it in the doo-hickey that does that who-knows-what.
