Postby m2102 » Sun Apr 08, 2012 7:53 am

this may not be all that new a topic but i need some help. i searched the forums for any help but didn't see my diffuculty mentioned.my reverse won't engage. now i don't use it much and really can't remember the last time i did use it. went to turn around in a small driveway at my moms and reverse wouldn't work. side stand up,engine running,n lite out and r lite on.when i press the starter could hear a noise like it was running but not moving.are their any pix or howto tutorials on what and where to look to fix problem. appreciate any and all help i know is coming.

well i did it again. ineed to trust my confidence when working on my wing. went out to look at situation and found that the cables weren't hooked up. feel pretty silly about now.put everything back as should be now just have to make the adjustments. the other good thing is i gave everybody a chuckle for the day. insult to injury,i changed the oil and looked rite at cables the whole time.

Amazing how issues like that resolves themselves. Only took you an hour and something eating at you to fix it, this happens to me all the time

well i had time to get my sences back on reverse cable i have another question. what needs to be done when you run out of adjustment for clutch, brake, reverse cable when it is at the end of the threads on the adjuster?

If you run out of thread on the cable adjuster, my first thought is the cable have streched. In this case, new cables would be the right thing to do. On the other hand, maybe a bracket is bent. Sometimes a cable have adjustment in both ends, and one end might be "over adjusted". It is hard to imagine a reverse cable beeing stretched that much. Brake and clutch is hydraulic....no cables I believe.
