power supply plug on GW 1500

Postby luigiluigi1025 » Mon Apr 30, 2012 2:57 pm

Hello Gentlemen,
I bought today may GW 1500 my 1996 with 28.000 km: great bike, unbelieveble in spite of the age.
Anybody knows if the plug for the interphone allows to keep 12 volt for other uses (i.e. GPS, smartphone), or if it is mandatory to add an additional plug direclty connected to the battery, thanks

Luigi

There is no 12 volt supply on that plug, it is audio only. If you need a 12 volt supply, you can wire one to the "Accessory" terminal on the fuse block - that will supply you with a fused 12 volt supply for any accessory you wish to use. It's a low-amperage supply, but more than enough for a GPS or smartphone.

Thank you very much.
I think to instal a plug inside the left "pocket" and use also for maintainig charged the battery.
The only issue is how to arrive with the cable from the battery to the pocket, passing under the seat: is it a good idea or there is other mora "standard" solutions ?

I think running along the side, under the shelter, and up into the fairing from there is probably the best idea.
