carburator problems

Postby HinsdaleNHGW » Sun May 20, 2012 4:19 pm

I have a 1997 GW Aspincade w/ 61,000 Miles. Bought it new in 96. Not run very much in last 10 years. Started last year but not ride. Put in gas stabilizer in past Oct. when last started. Tried for 2 days to start. Engine turnes over fine. Filled tank with new gas (91 Octane). No raw gas fumes coming from tail pipe. Think carb is clogged up from varnish of old gas. Any suggestions.

Sea foam might help clean out the carbs..50/50 mix and direct into the carbs from alternate fuel source. Let it sit over night and then try starting still from alternate fuel source..if that works..re attach to the gas tank and see if stills runs..if not fuel filter, fuel lines, pump???

Alternate source can be/should be gravity feed to eliminate all the bikes lines and pump
HAD LOTS OF GOLDWING 75-83
NOW INTO 1500'S..RIDING A 1998 SE

FAIR WINDS,
RB
