Headlight/sidelight lens

Postby pgjeepster » Fri Jun 22, 2012 9:29 pm

Can you buy a replacement sidelight for the front headlight assembly or do you need to buy the whole works? Seems like a bit of a waste. My headlight is good but the left hand side light lens is broken!

What are you referring to as the sidelight? Could you post a picture?

The headlight is composed of 3 clear lens large one in the middle for the 2 headlight bulbs hi/lo beam and one lens on either side (clear) with small marker bulbs 10 watt or so. I'll try to post a picture later if this doesn't explain it. Thanks for your help.

Im new to the 1500 but getting very experienced in finding stuff for it....Im sure everybody has their favorite vendor, I use Direct Line Parts for my 1300 and now for my 1500 OEM parts....looks like you can buy it separate and you might try Ebay....good luck

Evening pgjeepster. I've had a look at your pictures and it is called a position light and according to my GoldWing service manual it is a separate light from the head light. Can I suggest that you have a look round a wreckers yard as you may be able to pick up one a bit cheaper, plus you will need a new reflector as the one displayed has rust.

Don't do what I did may years ago when first riding bike, I looked at the head light reflector on the bike I had at the time and thought it looked a bit dim and scrungy so decided to clean it ....... I certainly buggered up that head light and had to get a new one (expensive, well it was back in the 1970s.

Thanks for the reply on the position light, it's actually not rust the unit is plastic and the rear reflective part has been sand blasted if I could get the one lens I could paint it before putting it together. Again thanks for your time.
