Was suppose to be simple change, but there is no plug for the light that goes into the marker. Am I missing something or not? Do I have to splice into a wire and if so which one? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated............Thank You !

fairing reflector to light 1998 1500A

Hi to all, I am new to Goldwings and not much of a mechanic, but try to save myself as much as possible. Inspired by postings on these pages to turn my fairing reflector to LED lights and of course it is not as simple as it looks. I have a 1998 1500 GL Aspencade After removing side fairing and inserting LED light in reflector, ready to plug the connector to what............There is a electrical block with 4 or 5 connectors in it but no where to plug my new light to............ All wiring harnesses are taped tightly and no wires exposed. And even if there was which one to choose. I am assuming that Honda did not install the optional plug if the light was not ordered from the factory. If I need to buy something else please some one help me............Thanks, Ron

There is a factory plug on the harness on each side, if you pull out the storage pockets on each side, you should be able to find it floating around in there.

As wingadmin says, the socket is on the harness under the storage pockets on each side.

They only thing that might give you pause is feeding the plug up to the area where the socket is. You might need to pull a little bit on the plastic to create enough room for the plug to fit up there, but it goes easy enough.

Good luck!
