I was reading the how on changing the sub and cruise control air filters and had a question. Is one on the right side of the bike as you sit on the bike or the other on the left? It looks like from reading the directions one is easier to get to the one on the right side? But the other is a lot more work behind the reverse lever etc. Or did I miss something.

You're correct. The cruise air filter is on the left side (as you sit on the bike) and the sub air filter is on the right side.

Once the side panels are removed, they're both fairly easy to get to and replace. The left side panel is slightly more work to remove as it has the reverse lever that must first be removed, but that's only a single hex head bolt, and is really not that difficult.
