CB Repair

Postby budavari » Wed Jul 04, 2012 12:11 am

Does anyone know where I can get repairs done to my CB? It transmits and receives OK on the upper channels, but not on the lower channels. I have a feeling that one or more of the finals have failed and need to be replaced. I have contacted Sierra Electronics and they can't repair it, saying they do not have some of the required information to do the repairs.

Thanks,
Bud

I've had this bike since '04 and the CB has worked fine until recently when the lower channels started acting up, so I don't think it's an SWR issue. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

You might want to check your tuner and your PTT sometime the PTT can cause a feedback loop that at certain frequencies cuts out the transmitted channel. You can also try placing the whole cb in a large pan of dry uncooked rice that's been heated for a day or two. Their could be moisture buildup within the Cb itself. And that could be causing your issue,
