He lists 1995 in his profile.
"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "

My bike is a 1995SE imported from the USA, but I am trying to help a friend who has an 1989 1500J in Dynastic Blue which has been fitted with an after market CB

Aftermarket is a whole different animal..generally if you open it up use connect cleaner is about all you can do unless you know electronics and have testing equipment. Is there a name or number on it?

The switch in question is the genuine Honda switch which mounts on the left handlebar cluster and is the same shape and size as the audio switch, The only one I can find in the parts list is the type fitted to my own 1995 SE which is a much bulkier switch and incorporates the fader control.

Unfortunately the switch you're looking for is no longer available from Mother Honda. Your best bet is e-bay or a salvage yard. I just went through this last fall when installing a cb on my 1990SE. Good luck.

My thanks to Mike B for the part number, I have found a company in the UK who has the switch in stock for £43 so have ordered it today, once more thanks for the assistance.
