gl1500 wheels

Can anyone tell me with certainty if the front and rear wheels from a 1990 gl1500 will fit a '94?

Yes they should. Looking at the parts fiche the part number is the same.
"It´s a friggen motorcycle, it´s not supposed to be comfortable, quiet or safe. The wind noise is supposed to hurt your ears, the seat should be hard and riding it should make you s**t your pants every now and then. "

Are you sure? I show that the 1990 part numbers are:

44650-MT8-305 WHEEL SET, FRONT
42650-MT8-305 WHEEL SET, REAR

And the 1994 part numbers are:

44650-MW5-305 WHEEL SET, FRONT
42650-MW5-305 WHEEL SET, REAR

Now that's the set - which includes bearings and spacers. It's possible the bearings were changed to a different supplier or some insignificant change like that, which would cause a new part number. But I don't know that for sure.

Thanks for the help guys. I've been told the '88 and 89' rear wheels won't work unless you use the 6 bolt flange adapter that goes with those wheels. I'm still trying to nail down a positive answer about the '90 wheels, but your input has helped. I may just have to take a chance and buy them and just re-sell them if I can't use them.

This is what I found for 1990:

WHEEL SET, FR.
44650-MN5-305
44650-MN5-315
44650-MT2-305
44650-MT8-305
44650-MW5-305

WHEEL SET, RR.
42650-MT8-305
42650-MW5-305

For 1994:

WHEEL SET, FR.
44650-MW5-305

WHEEL SET, RR.
42650-MW5-305
42650-MW5-315

So am I sure. In a word - No. Confusing to have so many part numbers for the same thing. This was from a site that I use for my part numbers all the time and never had an issue when I went to the dealer with them.

If it was me I would say they are the same. They definitely show different numbers for 1988/89.

88-89 wheels are for 88-89 only.

This is definitely true of REAR wheels, but it is my understanding that ALL GL1500 *FRONT* wheels are interchangable. Is this true?

I looked at a 91 front and while it looked like it would fit there was a design difference. Maybe only noticable by the one who changes out.
