Where do I find a high beam headlight wire, one easy to get to, on a 2000 gl1500 se for installation of a garage door module? Hopefully won't have to take off faring!!! The garage door opener will be controlled by the high beam switch. Thanks!!!

Wire for headlight high beam/low beam switch

I have a garage door opener module that needs to be tapped into the high beam switch wire. Where do I locate the wire without taking off faring and headlight assembly? Thanks

A really easy place is behind the right turn signal. Have a look at How to replace your front turn signal bulbs for instructions on how to get in there. You'll find a bundle of four wires leading to the headlight that runs right behind it. Green is ground, and the blue/black wire is the high beam wire. Not only that, there's some space in behind the turn signal light that is perfect for mounting your garage door module.

Thank you so much. I sure appreciate it!!! Do I take the instrument panel off or something to get to the wires?

Nope, just follow the instructions in that link I posted, it shows you all the steps. It's fairly simple.
