Front fender piece has gona missing!

Postby bjatwood » Sat Jul 21, 2012 8:21 pm

Ok guys and gals, just noticed this piece has deceided that it didn't want to be part of my ride anylonger. Where is the best place $$ wise to find a new one and what is the "official" name of this cover?
Thanks,

Well here's a black one on Ebay....http://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-2000-HONDA ... 8f&vxp=mtr
You might better rig up some kind of "lid keepers" for the front and side covers too. There really expensive.

Part is called a Fender Cover - Right or Left.

From the parts fiche I was looking at online it doesn't look like it's available in red. Runs around $150.

I'm surprised that you lost this and the grommet is still in place.

I'm bidding on the one on eBay (red one)
I WILL be ordering a set of Rudy's keepers for the panels
as I see Mother Honda wants over a 100 bucks for a new one!
Will probably replace all the gromets with new ones and the keeper
kit. That should keep everything in "place" Lesson learned!!!!
Thanks guys

I've got a set of Rudy's FenderKeepers on mine for just this reason, along with several other of his products. I wrote them all up here: Rudy's GL1500 "Keeper" products

You may wish to contact a salvage yard for that part.

Rudy's keepers are well worth the measly little bit he charges. It's far cheaper to buy those and keep your panels than it is to loose the fender cover or the right side cover. Those are popular panels to loose for some reason. My 1500 got a set of Rudy's keepers after I had to replace a panel.

My 1500 (and my 1100!) got a set of Rudy's keepers without ever losing a panel, because I REALLY don't want to lose one! :)
